Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled when you visit the Site. We designed the Site to collect as little data as possible: it sets no cookies, does not use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking, and never stores your IP address.

2. Hosting & server log files

The Site is hosted by a hosting provider in Germany. When you visit the Site, the web server automatically processes information that your browser transmits (so-called server log files): the requested page, date and time, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, your browser type and version, your operating system and your IP address. This processing is necessary to deliver the Site securely and reliably (legal basis: Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR - legitimate interest). Log files are deleted by the hosting provider after a short period.

3. Privacy-friendly website statistics (no cookies)

To understand how the Site is used, we operate our own, self-hosted statistics on our server. No data is transferred to third parties. The following information is processed:

• the page visited, the referring website (or campaign parameters), the time of the visit,
• browser and operating system (from the user-agent string), device type, screen and window size, browser language and time zone,
• country and city - derived from your browser's time zone setting (e.g. “Europe/Berlin” → Germany, Berlin), i.e. without any IP-based geolocation service, unless stated otherwise below,
• which buttons on the Site were clicked (e.g. the App Store link), how long the page was open and how far it was scrolled.

Your IP address is not stored. To count unique visitors, a hash value is calculated from your IP address, your user agent and a random secret that changes every day. This value cannot be reversed and cannot be used to recognise you across different days. No cookies, local storage or fingerprinting techniques are used. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in the reach measurement and improvement of our Site); as no information is stored on your device and no personal profile is created, no consent is required (§ 25 (2) TDDDG).

Optional IP-based geolocation: should we activate more precise city-level statistics, the IP address is transmitted once to the service ipinfo.io (ipinfo.io Inc., USA) exclusively to determine the approximate location, and only the resulting country/region/city is stored on our server. This section will be updated if that is the case.

4. Contact by e-mail

If you contact us by e-mail, the data you provide (e-mail address, name if given, and the content of your message) is stored for the purpose of processing your request and for possible follow-up questions (Art. 6 (1) lit. b and f GDPR). We do not pass this data on without your consent.

5. Links to third parties

The Site links to the Apple App Store, Google Play, Facebook and sharing services (WhatsApp, Telegram, X, Facebook, e-mail). These links are plain links - no data is transmitted to these providers until you actively click one of them. Once you leave the Site, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. We do not embed social media plugins.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
